Medford’s unique position in our Nation’s history needs to be revered. Our historic treasure need to be protected and preserved. The City’s financial resources are not strong. Our debt is growing. Our needs are many. What would the original occupants of the Royal House do faced with this reality? What would the colonial Medford citizen do? The zeal demonstrated by Medford’s early inhabitants for building our nation still is a source of inspiration. That citizen participation is what we need to hold onto our historic treasures. If those who are exercising leadership in these historic venues need money for preservation or to centralize their efforts, I would certainly consider their requests and assist them in achieving their goals.
